I love that if you look close enough (at full size) I am reflected in Ellie's eyes...this is an old one I just now got around to finding/editing. I took these for her four month pictures.

fungus (among us)

With all the rain my parents have had this past month (well over 12 inches), it was no surprise to find so many fungi hanging out in the woods. 

The third picture is the creepiest to me(those are called Indian pipes, because well, they look like Indian pipes). I had never seen those before...and had to practically lay down in the mud to take that picture, they aren't very big at all!)

(not so) elusive butterflies.

I have had phenomenal luck with butterflies lately. They love my patch of zinnias and haven't minded the little boy throwing dirt at them or trying to catch them (so far!)

accidentally deleted my settings on this one by editing it :(

This one was lucky, it positioned itself next to our house (white stucco) and made for an uncluttered background.

All these butterflies are making me wish for a macro lens!! And I think I like shooting in Av mode more for these shots, the depth of field is better for sure, but the monarch also was a lot slower than the unknown first butterfly!!
